Material delivery is a major source of time delays and cost overruns on most projects. Achieving an successfully integrated lean supply chain leveraging an effective Material Management program, aligned with AWP, has proven to reduce risk associated with Materials and increase productivity by getting the right materials, to the right people, at the right time. This course will expose participants to the effectiveness of AWP in supporting an integrated supply chain and rethinking how materials are optimally procured, batched, delivered, controlled, and installed. The course addresses Materials early engagement in procurement planning for long lead equipment, the development of the Materials Management Plan to support the Path of Construction and Materials strategy, and coordination with Procurement and suppliers to maintain project visibility on material delivery status. The course covers the AWP Material Feasibility Review and Material Issue processes, and typical material tagging approaches.
